Prey for the Gods – приключенческая ролевая игра, сочетающая в себе также элементы выживания и экшена. Вы – герой-одиночка, который отправился на край замерзшего мира, чтобы разгадать тайну вечной зимы. Вы прибудете туда только с одеждой на спине. Вам понадобиться выживать, добывать пищу, сражаться со всеми ужасами окружающей фауны, создавать оружие и убивать монстров.
Исследуйте огромный бесшовный мир, карабкайтесь по горам, скользите, заходите в пещеры, либо плавайте в холодной воде. Вы сможете обнаружить множество секретных и спрятанных областей, на которых можно найти сильных боссов, а после подобрать крутые и редкие предметы. В Prey for the Gods вы будете сражаться с мертвецами, восставшими из залежей снега, демонами и огромными чудищами. Сами Боги не знают, что представляет собой край мира, на который и отправился протагонист…
Вы сможете добывать различные материалы, а также крафтить полезные предметы, в виде снаряжения, оружия, брони, зелий. Разводите костры, восстанавливайте здоровье, употребляя продовольствие, либо выпивая специальные напитки. Если вы заметили странное свечение на глубине реки, то исследуйте его, но не оставайтесь под водой слишком долго, поскольку этот заплыв может оказаться последним. Каждый босс, которых в игре более 20, имеет сильные и слабые стороны, которые вы можете выявить, сражаясь с ним
