Несмотря на наличие карты, игра Книга Демонов не является коллекционной карточной игрой и не относится к жанру стратегий. Перед вами вполне себе стандартное ролевое приключение, где колодой карт определяются способности и навыки главного героя. Грамотный подход к формированию колоды обеспечит вам успех в любых сражениях с монстрами. Говоря о монстрах, следует отметить, что врагов в Book of Demons представлено свыше 70 типов, каждый из которых обладает уникальными механиками и своим неповторимым поведением.
Перед вами одна из наиболее удобных игр жанра. По словам разработчиков, многие геймплейные элементы создавались с мыслью об удобстве пользователя. Места, где в теории могут находиться секреты, например, отмечены специальными метками на карте. Персонаж игрока оставляет отпечатки обуви на земле. Эти следы можно использовать для того, чтобы обратный путь из лабиринта или обнаружить ранее исследованные локации, при этом, карту открывать вовсе не обязательно.
